MCPT Challenge on the Cricut Forum

This is the first time I've attempted to do what is called the MCPT challenge on the Cricut forum... MCPT stands for Magic Colored Pencil Technique. You use prisma color pencil (or the like). they must be high wax content.. Then you use what is called Gamsol or OMS (odorless mineral spirits) to blend in the color.. I had a lot of fun, but I've got a lot to learn to even think about being as good as the ladies who normally do the challenge.. Anyone interested I'm putting a link to the forum below this post.

Scrapallier Digital Stamp Design Team Contest

hey there.. Its been a busy week.. I was trying out a great digital stamp created by:

http://blog.scrapallier.com/

The contest was to take the stamp created and use it in a paper craft.. I decided to do something a little different than a card.. I decided to create a small valentine album to put some wedding pictures in and give to my great aunt... She is all about quality, not quantity.. so they smaller the better.. The stamp is wonderful.. The statement is from the Bible, Song Of Solomon.. there is to be a set of stamps in this series.. hope you like it and check out scrapallier's site.. continue to watch for the new upcoming stamps...

Tutorial - Chalking

Well, its been a busy couple of days.. I've been getting ready for Valentines.. Lots of new cards are posted below in my slideshow.. I'll be adding more up till Feb 7... One thing I've been getting lots of request for is why to chalk and ink, how to use them, when to use them, does it really make a difference in the layouts.. I'll post a few and you be the judge.. There are tons of layouts online to review. Just start looking at the edges. Notice if the clipart is simple when they use the chalk. Is the card layered?? Is every item on the layout chalked or inked? You'll start noticing the edges more than the card itself after awhile.. This was a HUGE help to me when I first got started..I don't think every card or layout needs to be chalked or inked.. sometimes simplicity is the best layout.. Below are some items that have been chalked or inked to bring out the detail.. after that are some tools I use to help me chalk.. And remember, inking and chalking can be ANY color you want.. you can use pink on green paper if you think that brings out the paper you are using.. or teal on brown.. Play with this.. Remember back when you were a kid and you loved to color.. Bring that joy back to paper crafting and all the work will be done.. any questions, email me..
