About Me

I am a mom of two. I was lucky enough to marry my high school sweetheart and best friend. We have three cats, two dogs and 2 hamsters in our family. I was diagnosed with Lupus a while back and had to quit my job due to stress. Now I am a SAHM trying to help our budget by designing craft items on ETSY... Thank goodness for the crafting community.. Tutorial - Chalking

Well, its been a busy couple of days.. I've been getting ready for Valentines.. Lots of new cards are posted below in my slideshow.. I'll be adding more up till Feb 7... One thing I've been getting lots of request for is why to chalk and ink, how to use them, when to use them, does it really make a difference in the layouts.. I'll post a few and you be the judge.. There are tons of layouts online to review. Just start looking at the edges. Notice if the clipart is simple when they use the chalk. Is the card layered?? Is every item on the layout chalked or inked? You'll start noticing the edges more than the card itself after awhile.. This was a HUGE help to me when I first got started..I don't think every card or layout needs to be chalked or inked.. sometimes simplicity is the best layout.. Below are some items that have been chalked or inked to bring out the detail.. after that are some tools I use to help me chalk.. And remember, inking and chalking can be ANY color you want.. you can use pink on green paper if you think that brings out the paper you are using.. or teal on brown.. Play with this.. Remember back when you were a kid and you loved to color.. Bring that joy back to paper crafting and all the work will be done.. any questions, email me..
